{"id":798,"date":"2021-07-13T10:28:30","date_gmt":"2021-07-13T08:28:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/akupunktur-freystaetter.de\/?p=798"},"modified":"2021-08-04T13:23:25","modified_gmt":"2021-08-04T11:23:25","slug":"a-primer-in-nutrition-and-chinese-medicine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/akupunktur-freystaetter.de\/en\/a-primer-in-nutrition-and-chinese-medicine\/","title":{"rendered":"A PRIMER IN NUTRITION AND CHINESE MEDICINE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-green-color has-text-color\"> &#8220;When we eat with pleasure, the stomach directs the purest portion of the essence from the food directly to the heart and awakens our joy of life.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good eating habits are the most important principle for strengthening the energy of the center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> Prefer good quality and high quality food, seasonal and local food<\/li><li> Establish a daily rhythm with regular meals<\/li><li> Regular breakfast, lavish lunch and light dinner, the latter before 6:00 p.m.<\/li><li> Serve lots of warm \/ cooked food (preferably 2-3 times a day)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\nWhile eating:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> Eat slowly and chew thoroughly<\/li><li> Don&#8217;t drink cold liquids with your meal, but rather clear and light soup, hot water or green tea.<\/li><li> Don&#8217;t eat right away after getting angry<\/li><li> Avoid exhausting discussions while eating<\/li><li> Do not eat completely full<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\nQuality of food and\nfood preparation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> Use organic ingredients (whenever your budget and availability permits)<\/li><li> No artificial food additives, no ready meals.<\/li><li> No microwave<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\nDetailed advice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> Simple meals (do not combine too many different proteins and carbohydrates)<\/li><li> Lots of vegetables (preferably only briefly steamed or seared)<\/li><li> Boiled cereals (millet or barley, bulgur &#8211; together with some soy, coconut or almond milk, also suitable as a healthy breakfast)<\/li><li> Neutral foods to which you add warm and refreshing ingredients<\/li><li> Soups that warm the whole stomach (e.g. Chinese style)<\/li><li> Vegetables that grow in the ground<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p> Food items with a (naturally) sweet flavour and neutral thermal properties have the following effect: strengthening Qi, harmonizing,  moisturizing, relaxing, saturating, nourishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nHowever the sweet\nflavour has no direction of action, i.e. it&#8217;s harder to digest.\nTherefore add other tastes. Too much sweetness creates moisture,\nwhich leads to phlegm.  &#8216;Visible&#8217; phlegm manifests as an excess in\nbody fat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\nHowever don&#8217;t be\nfooled by instagram and lifestyle magazine depictions of skinny and\n\u201esporty\u201c looking models.
